Conclusion discussion
Last Wednesday we had to pair up together and discuss the things we collected for our inspiration. My collection was still pretty small. Instead of 10 fascinations, I was left with three (all in one batch instead of divided). Ik had a hard time with the start of thinking of the fascinations and collecting resources for them. In this moment I realised this continues to be a weak point of my research.
Zina noticed this fact as well and she was surprised I was having a hard time with this and that I still don't have a clear image of what fascinates me and what I want to create. Everything is still a bit too vague. Other things we noticed are:
Use Google Drive. This way I can organise all the images in a much clearer way, and this also gives the opportunity for lecturers to easily see what is in my folders and give feedback on it all.
For musical inspiration 8tracks.com is a nice website to use. On this website you can create playlists with your inspirations and fascinations. It's just another way of collecting audio.
Positioning
When thinking about what I want to be doing after I graduate, I find out I have many goals and dream I would love to realise. I've spent a lot of time thinking if I should continue studying after graduation. I feel like I'm not ready to finish studying yet, but I also worry on different fronts when finding information about masters. For one: they are extremely expensive and I'm not sure if I can get the most out of the study. But on the other hand, you also learn a lot in a learning environment, as long as I keep myself motivated.
My ultimate goal is to start working in a studio after graduation, and I'd love the most to work overseas. I've been thinking about internships, residencies or jobs at companies in the United States, but also in South Korea. I'd love to work in an animation studio in South Korea because of my fascination for the country and its culture. I'd love to be a part of the blooming Animation industry there.
One can dream, right?
Strong points
I'd like to think that most of my strong points revolve around the way I'm working in Maya. I'm very much a perfectionist when I'm working on my models and the rigs so I can create nicely flowing animation. I'm also very interested in keeping on learning more and more about it.
I like to learn a lot about the things I want to create. I'm motivated to look up things on the subject on the internet or in the library to try to get small details right.
Through my internship at Shosho I feel like I gained a sense of responsibility and even a bit of leadership.
I'm driven, ambitious and enthusiastic about what I want to achieve.
Weak points
I tend to procrastinate. A lot.
Aside from that:
I find that I have a hard time beginning on a project. Research never has been my strongest point. My ideas are in the beginning pretty vague and I don't really have an idea how to go on from there in a logical fashion. I also encounter a lot of times when I'm really indecisive and find a hard time to move on with what I'm working on, motivation is mostly lost at these points.
I guess there is a lot more to add to this, but I'm having a hard time thinking of them right now.

Zina noticed this fact as well and she was surprised I was having a hard time with this and that I still don't have a clear image of what fascinates me and what I want to create. Everything is still a bit too vague. Other things we noticed are:
- My admiration of colour. In the batch I had at this time, There was a lot of bright and fun colours, not only in the folder for "colour inspiration", but in the folder for "texture and look" as well. Colour has a huge impact on my fascinations. (And funnily enough I'm horrible with the use of colour.)
- The second thing is: the amount of thought that I already put in the fascination for the final aesthetics. I've been thinking for a long time about the way I want my film to look, which shows in the collection I had at the time.
Use Google Drive. This way I can organise all the images in a much clearer way, and this also gives the opportunity for lecturers to easily see what is in my folders and give feedback on it all.
